Trellick is an inspiration. In 1984 it inspired the Financial Times to rate it as one of the ugliest buildings in the world. It has inspired love and hate in (perhaps) equal measure. But it has never been anything less than an outstanding and instantly recognisable visual landmark of modern London; it is virtually impossible to ignore.
As part of our community’s celebration of Trellick Tower’s fiftieth year, we are launching a few competitions and callouts.

GRAFFITI SKETCH BOOK COMPETITION
With the Hall of Fame on our doorstep, graffiti has become an important and valued part of the Trellick landscape.
This competition is looking for the very best in graffiti writers imagination and skill.
The top 10 winning entries will all feature in an exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery later this year.
The rules for entries: 

- Choose one of the words to sketch: Ernö OR Trellick OR Brutalist

- Create a blackbook masterpiece (in colour or black and white) and send us a hi-resolution scan or photo of your work to tt50sketchcomp@gmail.com

- Sketches will be scored in three areas: Letter style, background / characters and connection to the theme

- Submissions should be A4 or larger and be at least 300 dpi.

- Blackbook sketches only, no digital work allowed!

- Entries close at midnight, August 25th 2022

- Don't forget to include your name and contact details with your entry
FILM COMPETITION
Trellick Tower has featured in some great films and continues to be spotted in the background in many a music and fashion video.
This year, we are proud to announce that one of our well established local cultural neighbours, the Portobello Film Festival, will be themed around Trellick Tower. Click through to their website to see their familiar logo and find out more about the festival in September.
For a chance to see your film as part of the festival and as part of an event at the Design Museum, send us your movies, on film or digital, between 4-10 minutes long
The rules for entries: 
- Use your phone, a camera, some pro kit....it's up to you
- Make a documentary, a drama, a docudrama, a comedy sketch, an interview, a musical, an animation...as long as it is about Trellick Tower, the TT50 festival, our local communities or cultures in any mix you like
- The films will be judged in 2 distinct categories: 1 creative and imaginative input (where technical skills are not a focus); 2 Technical skill with imaginative input
- Put your work up on Vimeo, Youtube or wherever we can see it and send us the link (with a password if it is private)
- Send the link to trellicktowerRA@gmail.com
- Don't forget to include your name and contact details with your entry
PHOTO COMPETITION
Do you or have you lived in or around Trellick Tower? Do you have any images gathering dust in an album or on a harddrive somewhere? Or do you have a treasured shot that you’d love to share?
If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Our community wants to gather and share the life and love of Trellick over its fifty years, so that people can see why this is such a special building for our local communities across West London.
The rules for entries: 
- Use anything that can take a picture
- Your photo must be about Trellick Tower, the TT50 festival, our local communities or cultures in any mix you like
- The photos will be judged in 2 distinct categories: 1 creative and imaginative input (where technical skills are not a focus); 2 Technical skill with imaginative input
- Send your images to trellicktowerRA@gmail.com
- Use the email subject: TT50PHOTO
- INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING DETAILS: 
Name (all photos will be credited as long as we have the information)
